Craig Walsh Get Human Foundation - Founder

When it comes to social norms, Craig Walsh is not bound by thinking inside the box. His many years of entrepreneurship and a business background have given him unique insight into approaching challenges in completely different ways. What if, why not, and that’s nonsensical are a substantial part of his business acumen. I would like to introduce you to Craig.

Craig was born in Sioux Falls, SD in 1965. He graduated from Algona High School in Algona, IA in May of 1983, and attended Warburg College in Waverly, IA studying Computer Science. Craig has added many skills to his skill set over the years including: Business Management and Consulting, Accounting, Finance, Project Management (Waterfall, Scrum and Kanban), Real Estate Development, Sales, Marketing, Website Development and Deployment, Multiple Programing Languages as well as other talents (Surfing, Sailing, 1/2 IM’s, and a wicked guacamole).

Craig moved to San Diego, CA and started working for a Telecommunications startup producing local area network hardware products. After a short stint with ANP, he decided self employment was his ticket, so he started Future Data Products. From that platform he developed software and hardware for member management systems. His next venture led him into finance and to Denver, CO where he was instrumental in building or starting various finance related businesses. In 1996 he formed, with partners, Cayman Homes, Cayman Excavating, Afchen Mortgage and Afchen Sales Support. The companies were involved in every stage of the real estate development cycle from land acquisition through finance. There are more adventures (farm-sized ethanol plant and an event center at The Molly Brown Summer House) which make for interesting, conversational fodder.

Having been involved with the roller coaster ride of the real estate bubble, he decided he wanted the remaining years of his life to be used for a purpose bigger than self. He was given visions of systems; systemic services for all of us to use. He set out on a 5 year plan to refine these business concepts while learning everything needed to turn these visions into a sustainable tech-related business. His original intent was to form a Non-profit, but after meeting with a Non-profit attorney, he concluded it wasn't the best setup for his vision. Fortunately, he found another business structure that would suit his purpose; a Public Benefit Corporation. A PBC would allow him and his colleagues to operate with little to no profit as the guidelines for a PBC are foremost for the benefit of the Public and secondary to any shareholders. This seemed like a socially responsible format that fit his mission. Get Human Foundation was reincorporated as a Public Benefit Corporation in the state of Colorado.

Craig is determined to set in motion the vehicles for change and is currently writing code for the foundation piece that all other services will use. If these systems gain traction, they will truly change the daily lives of so many people who desperately need it. He also wishes to leave the world just a little better place for his young daughter.
